In-game HUD
A native overlay drawn straight over the game, light enough to leave running, and laid out by dragging widgets around in the game itself.
Drawn natively, over the game
The HUD is not a web page on top of your sim. It is drawn with Direct3D 11 and Direct2D, straight onto the monitors you choose.
- Only monitors that show a widget get a window. The others get none.
- Each monitor draws on its own thread, so a slower second screen does not hold back your main one.
- While you drive, the HUD ignores the mouse completely. Clicks go straight through to the game.
Light enough to leave on
In our first in-game test session, the overlay used about 1.6% of one CPU core, and we saw no measurable change in the game’s frame rate. That was one session measured with a simple frame counter, so treat it as a guide rather than a benchmark.
Lay it out in the game
Press Ctrl+Shift+E and the HUD unlocks right there in the game, with a small toolbox at the top of the screen.
- Drag any widget to move it.
- Scroll over a widget to make it bigger or smaller.
- Arrow keys nudge the widget you last clicked, a pixel at a time.
- Snap to a grid, with a slider for the grid size, and to the centre lines of the screen.
- Show or hide each widget from the toolbox.
- Done locks the HUD again. Your layout is saved to your profile as you go.
While you edit, only the widgets take the mouse. Everything around them still reaches the game.
Widgets
- Dash: gear, speed against a reference, pedals, RPM, fuel and virtual energy
- Lap delta: live delta, predicted lap and your sectors against a reference lap
- Track map: the track outline with a dot for every car
- Live telemetry: throttle, brake and steering
- Brake marker: where you brake compared with your best lap
- Car: tyre temperature, pressure and wear, brake temperature and damage
- Blind-spot radar: cars around you from above, with side warnings
- Timing tower: standings around you with intervals
- Fuel calculator: what is in the tank, use per lap, laps of fuel and energy left, and what to add to finish
Set it up once
Each widget has its own background opacity and size. Choose when it shows: hide below a speed, only near another car, hide in the pit lane or in hard corners, show only in Practice, Qualifying or Race, or write your own conditions from live values such as speed, pedals, gear and fuel. Try everything with sample data before a session, and import and share layouts.
Good to know
- The performance figure comes from one test session measured with a simple frame counter, not a formal benchmark. Your results depend on your PC.
- Show and hide rules do not apply while you are editing the layout.
- Custom widgets need the Widget Builder, which is Premium.
